Summers of hours spent gathering armloads of cutflowers for the Farmers' Markets have taught us what creatures are attracted to what flowers or visa versa. Monarchs, swallowtails, satyr/wood nymphs, sphinx moths, hummingbirds, purple finches, yellow canaries, Eastern bluebirds, flickers, hairy woodpeckers, and a host of other wildlife live in and around Redbud Farms. The tall prairie grasses of rural mid-Michigan shelter and hide grass-nesting birds, rabbits, pheasants, wild turkey, grouse, doves, and bobwhites from predators.
These are my companions as I work in the rows of beautiful, aromatic flowers each day of the summer. We have taken this knowledge gained from our observations and pastoral pleasures and created garden mix packaged products to offer you!
