Growers at Van Dyke Zinnias have worked 28 years developing our Supreme Variety Zinnia in a superb mix of colors and sizes. Our virtual storefront has been doing business since 1998 at WWW.REDBUDFARMS.COM . Today, we can be found here and at the new website under construction: www.vandykezinnias.com.
You can no longer order on the Redbud Farms website.
At the close of 2009, Van Dyke Zinnias moved operations to the lakeside cottage area of Pleasant Lake, MI. All the same varieties and types of zinnias are still being sold here! And we have not raised our prices in 13 years!!
Our Supreme Variety Zinnias actually grow 3-5 feet tall! Our beautiful Mini Zinnias, by contrast, are wonderful in window boxes and deck or patio flower pots -- any smaller arrangement where a mix of color is desired. Our goal is to offer you the finest selection of uncommon varieties of Zinnias available through a mail order company, large or small!
Our flower seeds are sold by online catalog, and at local Mid-Michigan Farmers' Markets. Let us show you some of our other selections guaranteed to compliment your garden: Sunny Calendulas, Super Celosia, Classic Cleome, Fiesta Cosmos, Choice Cosmos, Boasty Bachelor Buttons, Marigolds, Mexican Hat, Indian Blanket, and Sunny Mix Sunflowers.
We also have a select variety of other products - wildflower mixture, annual cut flower, songbird, hummingbird, butterfly, glory mix, dried flower, and perennial mixtures. Increasingly, sunflowers are becoming a very important crop for us. But you may be sure, we strive first to cultivate some of the best zinnias in the world! We have a flower for every sized pot.
Van Dyke Zinnias blends the best of the old (agriculture) with the new (Internet and computing technologies), researching the best available natural techniques to develop quality seed for direct mail and web catalog distribution. Environmentally unsafe chemicals are used little or not at all at the Farm, the owners preferring instead to make use of natural pest and disease control mechanisms. This is most easily achieved by cultivating a large bird and frog population.
We have satisfied customers in 50 states and several continents growing our flowers: Canada, Africa, Asia (China), South America (Argentina), and Europe (England). Growers and gardeners alike appreciate our pages on gardening tips. Web visitors also enjoy a leisurely browse through our many pages of photos and stories from the personal side of the business. Many customers' photo of their own Van Dyke Zinnias appear here.
PLEASE VISIT US OFTEN! WE HOPE YOU WILL COME BACK SOON!

What our customers say about us....
"Can you hear us all the way from Tennessee going on about what beautiful zinnias we have this year? I had bought $100 worth of seeds from your this year and gave some to my mother-in-law for her birthday and some to my mom for mother's day and keep the rest for my self. I will have to say my mother-in-law has the best patch because she planted her's in the first row of a established garden. Some of her's are monsters. I have been satisfied with my garden considered it is the first year (we just built this house last year). I will continue to work on the soil this fall/winter. My favorite are the salmon / melon colored ones. Next are the red spider zins. Wow! They are so different. I've had big ones and little ones. I definitely will have to buy more seed of them next year along with the green envy. I probably won't have any seed to save because everyone has been asking me for them. Well, I could talk all day about how much we are enjoying them. I can't imagine having a whole farm of zinnias!

"This is the second time I've written you. People are freaking out on our Zinnias! We get tons of comments on our flower bed! Another person has seen our Benary Giant Zinnias and wanted me to give them your catalog. They can't have mine! Could you please send one of your zinnia catalogues to my friend? Thanks very much!"

Hello, I love to read all the parts of your Red Bud Zinnia Farms site. Your warm spirit makes me wish I could travel to meet you and see all those zinnias in bloom. I am going to order some seeds. Most of my gardening now is in large containers, so I shall be careful how I choose. I come to your site and Jacquielawson (cards) almost each evening to achieve a feeling of peace and companionship and fun through the miles. I love your thoughts about dogs, as all of mine are waiting for me at the other end of the rainbow bridge. Now, I really feel that I know you as a kindred spirit.
Sincerely, Louise Walnut Creek Ca. 94598

"My Zinnias are spectacular! I'm sharing them with the entire neighborhood. I didn't have time to plant them according to your plan. By the time I got the plot roto-tilled, I was afraid if I
didn't just get them in, there wouldn't be enough time left in the season. So I just planted them in rows. Next year, my life should be less complicated and I hope to have more area
dug up so I can plant with more of a plan. Some of the flowers are so big, I can only put one in a vase. Can't wait for your catalogue for next year."
